The Hurley Recreation Association is a private facility for members and authorized guests only.
A family membership shall include married couples or heads of household and members of their family who reside in the same household and qualify as dependents as defined by the lRS. Any additions to family membership that meet the above criteria should be brought to the Board's attention in writing for consideration. A single membership is limited to one individual and can be obtained for anyone 14 or older. A family membership is $375 annually and requires 6 work hours. An individual membership is $165 annually and requires 6 work hours. Each incurs a $250 registration fee charged only in the first year provided membership is contiguous.
- Provision for a Caretaker
A babysitter or caretaker not on the family membership may come to the Hurley Rec without paying the day fee if they are there in place of a parent or guardian on the membership. If they attend while the parent or guardian is there they would have to pay the $5.00 guest fee. Grandparents not swimming do not require additional fee to be on the Family Membership.
- Regular guests
Guests are to be admitted with regular members only. The guest fee is $5.00/day. The season limit on guest is (25) twenty-five per family and (12) twelve per single membership.
- Special Weekly Guest Pass
Available for out of county visitors of members. The fee will be $30.00 per week per guest family, $15 per individual. Arrangements can be made by contacting one of the Park Directors, Membership Director, or President of the Board. This will not count toward your season limit on regular guest passes.
Additional passes can be issued to a maximum of 30. This does not affect the season limit number of passes.

No glass beverage containers of any type are allowed.
Speed limit is 10 miles per hour. No reckless driving.
All cars must be parked in the parking lot. No unlicensed motor vehicles are permitted including dirt bikes, trail bikes, snowmobiles, ATV's, etc.
No firearms, air guns, BB guns, or bows and arrows allowed. No hunting allowed. Firearms permitted by Officers of Law.
Damaging, destroying or removing any plant life is strictly prohibited.
No one is allowed to enter or remain in the park after 11:00PM except for scheduled events authorized by the Board of Directors.
Charcoal fires are allowed only in proper fireplaces or grills. Charcoal must be disposed of only in containers marked for this purpose.
No wood fires permitted unless for a Hurley Rec event that has prior Board Approval. Must be in a firepit and monitored at all times.
All picnic areas and fireplaces must be left neat and clean.
No large group or organization may use any of the park facilitles without written permission from the Board of Directors. Requests for permission must be submitted to the Board of Directors at least 10 days in advance by submitting a Facility Reservation form.
Please report any hazardous condition or faulty equipment to the Park Director or the lifeguard at the pool.
The Park Director or their designee is authorized by the Board of Directors to eject any person from the park for disorderly conduct. In cases where the infraction endangers the life or safety of others, permanent banishment from the park could result.
No unattended children in the park under age 12.
Defacing of park property, including picnic tables, is prohibited.
Tennis courts are for members' use only. Rules are posted at the court gate.
No pets of any kind allowed in the park.
The Hurley Rec. is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property for our children's health.
|Pool Rules |
Membership is required for entrance into the pool area.
All members and guests must register with the gate checker upon entering. If your name does not appear in the Gate Book you must check with the Membership Director before being allowed to enter the pool area.
No one is allowed in the pool area except when lifeguards are on duty.
No parent may leave a child under 10 in the pool area unless another adult 16 or over assumes responsibility for the child. Babysitters age 13-15 may accept this responsibility after attending a babysitting clinic endorsed by the Rec. Care of the Lifeguards does not count.
- No running or horseplay in the pool area. Discipline wlll be maintained by lifeguards. The Park Director on duty or lifeguards are authorized by the Board of Directors to eject any person from the pool for disorderly conduct. In cases where the infraction endangers the life or safety of others, loss of membership could result.
No child may be left unattended inside the kiddie pool fence.
Infants in the kiddie pool must be properly attired. Swim diapers are required.
Children over 8 years of age are prohibited from the kiddie pool.
Children in swim diapers are allowed in the adult pool.
Adult swim is for those age 16 and over only.
All artificial swimming devices (inflatable toys, bubbles, rafts, tubes, etc.) are prohibited in both pools.
Swim goggles are the only apparatus that may be worn in either pool.
No jumping or diving off the sides of the diving boards or as marked from the sides of the pool.
Only one person at a time shall be on the diving board.
Food or drink is not permitted within either pool area. Water in plastic bottles is OK.
No person may give swimming or water safety instruction for fees.
Children must demonstrate their ability to swim one length of the pool to the lifeguard before being permitted to swim in the deep end of the pool.
Members are solely responsible for cleaning up after themselves and their children.
|Volunteer Work Hours |
Each family or single membership belonging to the Hurley Recreation Association is required to perform 6 hours (4 Regular Work hours and 2 at either Spring or Fall Cleanup) of volunteer work for the Association each year. You must work the hours you have signed up for, or it is your obligation to find a substitute. Missed work hours will be promptly billed at a rate of $50 per hour.
Any changes should be communicated to the Work Hours Director one week in advance, or as soon as possible.
If you are not scheduled for work hours by June 1, contact the Work Hours Director. Failure to do so will result in your being assessed $50.00 an hour for work hours owed. Failure to perform work hours may result in membership suspension.
|Work Projects |
Pool maintenance: Preparation of pool in spring and closing in fall. Generally scheduled on Weekends. 4 Hour credit opening & 4 hour credit closing.
Snackbar: From 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. daily when pool is open. Operate snack bar including stocking shelves, preparing and selling food, ice cream, candy and soda, and cleaning up at the end of your shift. May also require some gate check duties.
Gate Check: From 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. daily when the pool is open. Check all users of the pool to ensure that members and their guests are admitted. Must collect guest fee if not a member. Sweep under the pavilion and water plants at the end of your shift.
Arts & Crafts: Assist in an art and craft program conducted during the weeks that the park is open. If you have any speciality that you might like to teach to the children, please contact the activity coordinator.
Social Events: Assist in implementation of social events for the members during the year.
Recreation Program: Assist the Park Director in conducting youth and adult programs.
Specialties or Talents: Please note, on your registration, any talents either job or hobby oriented such as Plumber, Carpenter, Electrician, Sign Painter, Typist, Contractor, Welders, Locksmith, etc...
Special Note: Be sure to enter your time on the Work HoursTime Sheet that the Director will make available when you are working on your project. This will insure that you get full credit for the hours you have completed.
